Pet homing when going on holiday

If you are planning a holiday and have pets then you will need to make arrangements as to what is going to happen with them whilst you are away. Some animals are easier to accommodate when going on holiday than others, Cats tend to be ok left for a short period of time as long as someone can pop in once or twice a day to ensure they have fresh food and water. If they have a cat flap they can use then they can easily come in and out the house as they please.

Sorting out a dog when going on holiday can be a little more hassle. Dogs cannot usually be left for longer than a day as they often cannot get in and out of the house and are usually used to company so may feel scared or abandoned.

You can send either your dog or cat to the kennels whilst you are on vacation but this can be costly and they will need to be completely up to date with all of their vaccinations to be allowed to stay.
