How to beat boredom when travelling

Travelling to and from a destination can often be boring. You may have to be stuck in a car, on a train or in a plane for a number of hours before reaching your chosen location. Boredom can especially affect children who may not be able to find things to do to pass the time.

It may not even be the travelling that bores you but all the waiting around. It may be that your flight is delayed adding a few hours on to the two hours early you need to arrive at the airport anyway, or waiting for transfers to your hotel.

If you can then try and make the most of the time that you have free. It may be that you like reading but have little time to fit it in within your usual day to day routine. If this is the case pop to the book shop and pick up a few books or magazines that you can sit and enjoy. If puzzles are more your thing then have a stash of the ready but don’t forget to take a pen with you!

If your children have tablets then ensure they are full charged and allow them to go on them for an hour or so at a time to give them something to look forward to and also allow them time away from the screen. Playing games such as I Spy and even simple card games can often pass an hour or so.
