Choosing your accommodation

When staying away whether it be for business or pleasure you need to think about what is important to you in terms of what the accommodation can offer. If you are looking to book a room to stay in following a night out on the town and don’t intend on spending much time in there then you will probably be looking to find somewhere that is cheap  and close to where you will be going out. If you are looking for a break away with a loved one or friend where you can unwind and relax then you may want to opt for somewhere that has an onsite bar and restaurant and possibly even a spa.

If you think you are going to be staying out late, then a B and B may not be suitable to you especially if it is someone’s home and some B and B’s and smaller independent hotels say that the doors are closed at 10pm for example and you will not be able to enter after this time. If you are going with children, then you may want to find somewhere that is child friendly and geared up towards kids. Some larger hotels have a 24-hour reception and check in making them more accessible if you need to check in late in the evening or early in the morning.

Always take some time to research the accommodation and read plenty of reviews to find out what sort of experience you can expect.
